Carnoustie Allotments

The site on Maule Street has 50+ plots with 33 plotholders (some have doubles). It is organic, provides fresh fruit vegetables and flowers for plotholders, and is managed by a small committee.

It provides fresh air and light exercise for our very mixed community. All are welcome, whatever their background.
It also provides a peaceful and friendly environment in which to unwind from the stresses of the week.

Carnoustie Camera Club

Carnoustie Camera Club was formed in 1961 and we aim to encourage interest in photography by way of talks, exhibitions, competitions, workshops and excursions. Our members meet socially to share skills, ideas and we participate in internal and external competitions in order to find inspiration and hone our photographic skills.  The club is informal and welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels. Learn to get that camera off of the automatic settings; start taking control and create images that you did not think were possible. Push yourself in the competitions and get work published!

Meets:  Alternate Friday evenings 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm (September until April)

Carnoustie Musical Society

We are a local musical society and we have premises that we own and rehearse in, on Links Avenue, Carnoustie. These premises are available for other organisations to hire for their own use. We have on site accessible toilets and a kitchen. We have a usable floor space suitable for use for dance groups, yoga or meetings. We have tables and chairs for up to and around 60 people to use. Please contact Kevin if you are interested in letting the hall.

CMS currently produces an annual main show in March, usually staged in Carnoustie High School theatre. The hall is readily converted to a small community theatre, which has proved very successful for our cabaret productions, known as Comrie Cabaret. We are currently rehearsing for a new cabaret-style show taking place in September.

New members are always welcome. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in Comrie Hall. If you would like to sit in on a rehearsal, please do come and join us. We are always happy to hear from prospective members, so feel free to contact the secretary or president for further information. We are a very friendly society with a wide age range of members.

Colourful Carnoustie

Colourful Carnoustie is a group of volunteers who are dedicated to improving the environment, primarily through developing and maintaining the floral ‘look’ of the town. We work with local schools and organisations and in both 2015 and 2016 Carnoustie won gold awards in the Beautiful Scotland competition. We took a year out in 2017 but are now gearing ourselves up for a vigorous and enjoyable 2018, especially with the Open in the town this July.

Carnoustie to Barry is a long town. Our efforts to date have mostly been focused on the town centre, but we would like to expand west along Dundee Street and Barry Road. And to do this we need help! Help of any kind is much appreciated, whether in providing ideas, helping with projects, an hour or two of planting up or weeding, taking responsibility for watering one or some planters, fund-raising, or simply following us on Facebook and spreading the word.
