Angus Cycling Club

We are based in Forfar and our club members come from throughout the Angus area. Club runs are organised for Sundays throughout the year. The speed and distance of our runs depend on who turns up, sometimes we split into two groups, and no one gets left behind to get lost on their own. Evening pub runs take place on Wednesdays through the year.

All of our runs now leave from the new Forfar Community Campus.

Club activities cover a wide range of cycling interests and abilities. As well as the Sunday runs we organise a number of Audax events and social away weekends. Club members range from occasional riders through to keen audax eventers and dedicated foreign cycle tourers. A wealth of experience and advice is here for the asking. Our aim is to promote cycling in all of its diversity. New members are always welcome- why not come along one Sunday and find out more. If you are interested contact any club member for further details, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Angus Ski Club

Angus Ski Club is a small friendly club run by a committee of volunteers and is a non-commercial enterprise.

The club is affiliated to Snowsport Scotland which is the sports governing body. This affiliation entitles members to worldwide civil liability insurance when skiing. Club members also receive discounts on lift passes at most Scottish Ski resorts.

A major benefit of the club is that members gain access to the dry ski slope located within the RM Condor military base just outside Arbroath.

Sessions take place between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout most of the winter months.

First time skiers and improvers will benefit from lessons provided by the club instructors who are all qualified

via the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) scheme.

Competent skiers are also welcome to join the club and take advantage of brushing up on their technique at the dry ski slope.

OOTANABOOT

OOTANABOOT is the result of an initiative by Angus Council, NHS Tayside and Paths for All who promote health walks, in Arbroath, Carnoustie, Edzell, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Letham and Montrose. Brechin, sadly, had to break away because we were, quite correctly, no longer considered doing health walks, chiefly because we ventured out of Brechin and walked over an hour.

The principles are the same though which is to allow, mainly older folks though we welcome younger ones, to enjoy socialising while exercising, admiring the wonderful scenery in our area.

All walks are risk assessed; a four monthly programme is made up with suggestions from those participating so that choice is always there.

Cars are available for transport, drivers receiving a thank you penny at the end or a coffee and cake at the many coffee shops we find on our travels!

Join us each Wednesday at 1pm (13.00) – we meet and leave from Brechin Library. You will be made to feel very welcome.
