AbilityNet’s Tech volunteers provide free IT support to older people and disabled people of any age. Our volunteers can support people located anywhere in the UK.They are all disclosure-checked and can help with all sorts of IT (information technology) challenges, from setting up new equipment, fixing technical issues, showing you how to stay connected to family, and use online services.

Davidson Legacy Cottage SCIO Davidson Legacy Cottage is the historic family home of the Davidsons of Harley-Davidson. Located in the heart of Angus, Scotland—and formerly known as Netherton Cottage—this is where the remarkable story of the Scottish family who helped form the iconic motorcycle company began. Harley-Davidson was famously founded by three Davidson brothers and William Harley in 1903 in Milwaukee, USA. The cottage was the childhood home of the Davidsons’ father, William C. Davidson, who was born and raised here until the age of 11. In 1857, he emigrated to America with his family, where he grew up, married fellow Scottish emigrant Margaret McFarlane, and raised his own family. Though he could not have known it at the time, William played a foundational role in creating an American icon when he built the very first Harley-Davidson workshop for his sons. Measuring 10×15 feet and affectionately known as “The Shed,” it provided the humble beginnings from which the Motor Company grew. Saved for the Community Step back in time to experience a period of no running water, no indoor toilet, and no fully fitted kitchen. While the cottage was previously rescued and restored in 2008 by private owners, a pivotal new chapter began when the property was placed on the open market. Facing the very real prospect of being lost to developers, the Davidson Legacy Cottage SCIO stepped up with the help of the UK government Community ownership fund and fundraising successfully purchased the cottage, securing it in March 2025 as a permanent community-owned asset to protect its incredible heritage. Today, the cottage welcomes thousands of visitors from across the globe. Guests are greeted with a warm cup of tea or coffee and can either explore the historic home at their own pace or enjoy a personal guided tour before signing the visitors book.Social | Motorcycling | History | Community

Her Story Scotland aims to support girls and women to be the change makers in their own story. The Montrose Playhouse is a community owned 3 screen cinema and art centre with café bar, activity spaces and retail area for promoting the arts, heritage and culture by providing a location for films, art, music, drama and entertainment in the heart of Montrose. We aim to provide the whole community with access to cultural, educational and inclusive experiences. The whole ethos of The Playhouse is about social inclusion and we run multiple social programmes throughout the week for customers with barriers to participation.
Murton Trust manages a thriving nature reserve, visitor farm and tea room, on the outskirts of Forfar. Murton provides a unique environment in which children, young people and adults can learn and develop skills for life. We wish to enrich people’s lives by using our site as an educational tool that has a positive impact on all ages.
As a Scottish charitable organisation with a dual purpose, situated on a former sand and gravel quarry, Murton Trust manages and enhances the natural heritage on the 100 acre site and currently utilises the landscape to provide opportunities for young people from Angus and Dundee (aged 14-19) who are disengaged from formal education, to gain meaningful vocational qualifications or work experience in hospitality and land based skills.
Murton Trust is a Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) accredited vocational training centre, our education programmes make significant differences to the futures of challenged young people. We support those currently at school and those who have left school with no positive destination who are at risk of future social and employment exclusion, as a consequence of little or no school achievements.
We also operate Murton Tots Outdoor Playgroup throughout term time, working with pre-school children in an outdoor setting introducing them to the benefits of playing outdoors and experiencing nature at an early age.
