Community Sports Hub

Community Sports Hubs aim to achieve intentional social change through sport and physical activity. They bring together local sports clubs, physical activity providers and non-sporting organisations to discuss community needs, and the role sport can play in reducing inequalities linked to those needs. In Angus, we have community sport hubs in – Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, and Montrose.

Forfar Sailing and Watersport

We are a small club, based on a safe inland loch. Our aim is to promote the enjoyment of dinghy sailing and other water sports in our area. To this end, we encourage both recreational sailing and racing, along with a well balanced training programme. We also have 2 wooden skiffs available for anyone wanting to row in a social or competitive environment.

We are family-orientated but have the facilities and support to encourage the more dedicated sailor to become a champion.

Forfar Westend Para-Football Team

We are a new established team who have just recently got together in 2022. There is not a para-football team in the Angus area, we are the first team and we’re based in Forfar. Team players come from all over Angus and Tayside to enjoy and develop their football skills with us. The coaches and everyone involved are putting in enormous efforts into the development of the team and it’s all on a volunteer basis. The players who all have disabilities enjoy and love football, they come to training every Monday night. We have a team of 17 players and 3 coaches (male and female). Volunteers must be willing to obtain full PVG check.

Hedzup

Our motorcycle mechanics program ties into racing both locally and nationally. Our youths build the bikes, we have team members that race them, and attend race events as Pit Crews in Scotland, England, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland to show off their mechanical skills.

Such is the reputation of our youths they have also been accepted into roles as Marshals at these events giving them life experiences that few have the opportunity to experience.
