Montrose Connections - Dementia Peer Support Sessions

Peer support is when people with similar experiences are brought together to provide emotional, practical and social support to each other.

Nobody should face dementia alone.  Our Angus wide peer support network aims to bring those in the early stage of dementia, both those with a diagnosis and carers, to give them an opportunity to have their voices heard and to receive vital support with sustaining their quality of life.

Sessions run on third Tuesday of each month, 10am – 12 noon.

Rossie Young People’s Trust

Rossie Young People’s Trust was founded as Rossie Reformatory over 150 years ago and has been growing ever since. In 2009 we completed the build of new Secure and Close Support units. These have all the very latest and innovative features that you would expect or wish for. Our 150 years of experience and self-development has ensured that the young people in our care receive the best possible environment to allow them to flourish. Rossie, as we are better known, is a Registered Charity (SCO19969), a not-for-profit organisation.

Almost exclusively our income is derived from the sale of our residential services to the Scottish Government and Scottish Local Authorities. We believe in, and foster the ethos of, value for money. Rossie is situated in a tranquil, rural environment, with excellent road and rail links to all major cities.

We are proud of our long history of providing accommodation, education, care and support to the young people of Scotland. Our staff team undertakes this task with all due diligence in what can often be challenging circumstances.

The Royal British Legion Montrose

Since 1921 we have stood for and provided support to veterans and their families.

When servicemen and women return to civilian life after serving with the Armed Forces some are in need of community and friendship, maybe as a result of their experiences in the services or purely because they are no longer part of the ‘military family’ they had come to rely. We make a difference every day to the lives of those veterans through our comradeship and befriending programme, developing strong communities and supporting remembrance.

Our large family network is spread across Scotland and helps support veterans and their families to get on with their lives and assists those who require assistance.
